Carbon Metric

We’ve developed a suite of assets to highlight the key findings from our latest carbon metric report.  When sharing these on social media, please do tag Zero Waste Scotland, or How to Waste Less (Instagram only).

The various animated and static visuals show that clothing and textiles are the most environmentally-damaging type of household waste, accounting for nearly a third (32%) of the carbon impacts of Scotland’s household waste despite making up only a small proportion, by weight (4%) of the waste we bin.

“The Carbon Footprint of Scotland’s Household Waste” report is updated on an annual basis using the Scottish Environment Protection Agency’s (SEPA’s) latest published waste data.
